5 important changes Mikel Arteta must make to win a trophy with Arsenal

Another game, another defeat, Mikel Arteta is beginning to realize that managing Arsenal is more complicated now than before. Sadly, the Gunners have slumped to mediocrity under the Spaniard who failed to inculcate his ideas to the raw and inexperienced Arsenal team.

The back to back defeat to Manchester City and Brighton has further highlighted how weak, inexperienced and lethargic Arsenal’s general display is. Without doubt, changes must be made this summer if Mikel Arteta is to win trophies like the club’s greatest manager Arsene Wenger.

Here are the five changes Mikel Arteta-

The intensity and rhythm of the team must be improved- Arsenal must match Liverpool and Manchester City in tensity and rhythm if they serious about winning a trophies. The Gunners can’t be playing slow and predictable football and expect to win a trophy or finish in the top 4.

The defense must be overhauled, David Luiz and others have to go– Defensively, Arsenal is vulnerable and easy to penetrate. They don’t have a commanding centre back of the stature of Virgil van DIjk, Aymeric Laporte or Rudiger to organise the defense.

David Luiz and others at the back are not good enough for Arsenal.

Arsenal must sign a defensive midfielder- The Gunners do not have reliable defensive midfielder to break up play or set up the tempo of play. Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira are both good midfielders but not good enough to do the dirty work. Arsenal need a powerful midfield destroyer like Wilfried Ndidi who can break up the play with power and pace.

Arsenal must rid off fringe and out of contract players- Its time Arsenal get rid off the likes of Mesut Ozil and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and build a team capable of running their soaks off for the manager. They can’t be rely on two or there players to be champions, it has to be collective effort.

Arteta must develop his own identity– Arteta’s must develop an effective style of playing football just like Pep Guardiola has done. He has sit back and ask the very question every top manager always ask’ what must i do to improve my team and win trophies?”.
