Real Madrid’ sensational striker Karim Benzema is optimistic of winning this year’s Ballon d’Or after playing the best football of his career and winning a trophy with France.
Benzema is among the 30 shortlisted players for the Ballon d’Or and he believes the support for his former manager Zinedine Zidane and Luka Modric could help massively in him winning it.
Asked if he dreams of winning the Ballon d’Or, Benzema replied: “Of course, of course”, he told Canal + France.
“My idols, Ronaldo Dilma and Zizou came to Real Madrid. I have come to Real Madrid. And they also won teh Ballon d’O. These are little things that i think about.
“It’d be one of the many dreams i had as a child. Right no, here i am, i’m not far off”.
Benzema do have a shot of winning the Ballond ‘Or but, the individual award will be decided between Lionel Messi and Jorginho- the odds on favourite.
