3 reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo is blamed for Manchester United current woes

Manchester United decline to obscurity is frightening and worryingly to the legends and fans who used to believe the club is the greatest in history.

That history is what drives the fans and the current players on and Cristiano Ronaldo is no exception. He is one of the club’s greatest player and part of the 2008 dream team.

Ronaldo won the Champions League, the Premier League title, the FA Cup and the Ballon d’Or in the 2008 with Manchester United.

But now, Ronaldo is seen as the problem of the club and not the solution:

Ronaldo doesn’t press- Collective pressing is new normal in football. From the attacker down the defense press the opposition to relinquish the ball before launching into attack. Ronaldo don’t press as much as other attackers in the Premier League and that allows teams come at United and attack them with purpose.

Ronaldo presence alters Pogba’s position- What is Pogba’s best position at Manchester United? A very difficult question to answer after watching him struggle to exact his presence in midfield.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer discovered early on that Pogba plays better in an advanced midfield position and not as a deep playing midfielder. But with Ronaldo’s arrival, he is forced to put him back in central midfield were he has struggled for consistency and form.

Ronaldo is un-droppable– Ole Gunnar Solskjaer biggest problem at the moment is that he can’t drop Ronaldo for more than a game. He has to play in every game and ensure United either win or draw with him.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a huge brand and people who have invested in him what to see him play irrespective of how United fairs under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
