Don’t do it Xavi! 3 reasons why Xavi Hernandez is poised to fail at Barcelona

Barcelona are on the verge of hiring Xavi Hernandez as the next manager of the club. Hiring Xavi is definitely a good call from most quotas knowing his affiliation with the club and his success over the years. But bringing him back will come at cost.

If he fails, his image will be damaged just like Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.

Luis Suarez don’t want to see Xavi fail into the same trap as Ronald Keoman who left his stable and effective job with the Holland national team just for Barcelona. If only Koeman could see the future he would’ve said no to Barcelona and stayed with Holland.

High pressure job with little or no finance to buy players-

Xavi is currently replicating what Koeman did without thinking through. He is about to take a high pressure job with little or no finance to buy the sort of players he needs to win games and trophies.

He is inheriting a squad made up of Luuk De Jong, Memphis Depay, Philippe Coutinho, Ousame Dembele and not Neymar or Lionel Messi. The Bluagrana giants don’t have the funds to sign Mohamed Salah or Kylian Mbappe meaning Xavi will definitely have to work with experience which he currently don’t have.

Daunting expectations- Everyone expects Xavi Hernandez to start winning games and possibly trophies once he is appointed. No one not even Joan Laporta will accept excuses. Xavi must turn Barcelona into a world class team in the shortest possible time and if he can’t he will be sacked like Ronald Koeman.

Detailed football without players to implement it- Yes! he has detailed way of playing football with lots of tiki taka and imaginations but Barcelona don’t have the squad which already is a problem.

Ronald Koeman was spot on when he said Barcelona’s preferred way of playing football is no longer possible because they don’t have world class players to implement it and with Lionel Messi gone, there’s no player who can break the lines with a single pass or slalom run neither can he orchestrate the tempo of the game with bliss.

Xavi can not play tiki taka football without world class players, its just not possible.

Depending on Memphis Depay and the injury plagued Sergio Aguero– Who can realistically score 30 or 40 goals at Barcelona? Maybe Sergio Aguero who has done it before with Manchester City but, the Argentinean is not the player he was 7 or 4 years ago. Injury has taken a toll on him and slowed him down.

Other options like Luuk de Jong, Memphis Depay, Ansu Fati, Philippe Couitnho have never done it before so expecting them to do it under a rookie coach like Xavi Hernandez is a fool’s dream.
