Saul could be leaving Chelsea much earlier than he anticipated after struggling to hold down a regular playing berth under Thomas Tuchel. The manager deems him surplus to requirement and will ask the club to terminate his contract.
Saul has one Premier League start to his name, in which he was substituted at the break after a poor display. His lackluster display have seen Tuchel pick other fringe players like Ross Barkley and Loftus Cheek ahead of him.
The Spaniard must now prove he is good enough to stay at Chelsea before the janaury transfer window or face the embarrassing fate of returning to Atletico Madrid were he is not equally needed.
