£107.58m spent in 5 years: Liverpool have overachieved under Jurgen Klopp

Under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have transformed into the best club in the world.

The manager has introduced a brand of football that purely focuses on tenacious pressing and tracking back; breathtaking counter attacking football and intelligent link up play between the defense and attack.

Impressively, the manager have succeeded in lifting the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Added to that Klopp is on the verge of becoming the first manager in the club’s history to win the Premier League title. He will become the second manage in 30 years to win a league title at Anfield.

Although, achieving that fate wasn’t easy, Klopp didn’t have the vast revenue of Manchester City {£601.98m spent in five years} or Manchester United {£484.88m spent in 5 years}.

He spent just £107.58m to sign the likes of Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri. Although, most of the fees was settled from the money realized from Phillipe Coutinho’s £142m sell to Barcelona.

Liverpool’s present success is no doubt down to Jurgenn Klopp’s managerial acumen and not about the money spent.
