Is Liverpool star Trent Alexander Arnold the world’s most creative right back?

Another game, another brilliant assist for Trent Alexander Arnold who is fast becoming the most creative right back the game has ever seen.

Arnold, 21, has replaced Philippe Coutinho as Liverpool’s most creative hub and in each passing game, he keeps proving to his teammates and manager that he can be relied upon.

Tagged ‘the De Bruyne of right backs’, Arnold’s passes are 89% accurate and his ability to locate a player with a pin point cross from any distance makes him a real threat in the attacking third.

Since the start of the 2018-19 season, Arnold has provided 24 assists and 8 in the last 5 games. Added to that incredible stats, he has scored 5 goals along with 2 sumptuous free-kicks.

Such phenomenal stats have seen him get praised by millions of fans around the world, teammates, legends of the game particularly Cafu and one of Liverpool’s biggest icons Jamie Carragher.

Impressed with his stats, Carragher told Sky Sports: “What makes him special is like having De Bruyne at right back, like a midfielder at right back.

“People talk about his defending, but what he is doing- like Beckham at wing-back under Hoddle because of his quality- Alexander -Arnold is like a wing back with the positions he plays. ”

Focusing on West Ham and the two assists he provided for Liverpool to beat a spirited West Ham 3-2, Carragher added:

“Think of the best in his position, think of Cafu or Dani ALves, they were world class, bombing down line, getting crosses in, but he is running the game for his team. The best player-maker is a right back from West Derby”.

Arnold creative impetus along with Andrew Robertson remains the key reason Jurgen Klopp have no interest in replacing Philippe Coutinho.

Klopp knows its easy to man mark the likes of Coutinho or De Bruyne out of the game but how do you do that against a left and right back whose first intuition is to bomb down the flank and send in delicious crosses into the 12-yard box for attackers to leash on and score.
