Why Liverpool Are Seriously Considering Resigning Philippe Coutinho

Barcelona flop Phillipe Coutinho could be making a sensational return to Liverpool this summer reports Marca.com. The 27-year-old is currently deemed surplus to requirement at Barcleona and he free to leave either on loan or permanently.

Arsenal and Tottenham are heavily linked to the play-maker but it seems Liverpool have the edge in resigning him due to his close relationship with the coaching staffs, players and fans. The versatile attacking midfielder could also return due to Jurgen Klopp’s revelation that Liverpool won’t be splashing $50m or $100m on new signings even though two superstars {Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana} recently left the club.

The club will likely be signing players on loan until they ascertain the financial impact Covid-19 have had on the club’s balance sheet and future earnings. According to Teamtalk, Liverpool are considering bring back Coutnho on a season loan deal to replace Adam Lallana who recently left the club to join Brighton and Albion.

Coutinho will cost Liverpool $9m to sign on a season loan deal but he has to accept a wage reduction {$200,000-a-week to $130,000-a-week} and a limited playing opportunity – first team football has to be earned not given.

Once he accepts the changes, Liverpool will resign him this summer on a season loan deal before deciding whether they make it permanent or not next season.
