Thiagio Alcantara is a world class midfielder who is revered for his creativity, technical qualities, excellent dribbling skills and superb ball control. His ability to play as attacking midfielder, a central midfielder and even as deep seated midfielder remains one of the reason Jurgen Klopp has always desired to sign the play-maker.
But signing him was nearly impossible. Alcantara wanted to improve himself in the best teams in the world and not Mainz or Borrusia Dortmund. At Barcelona where he shut to limelight he won 8 trophies including one Champions League trophy before deciding, Barcelona wasn’t the right club for him to develop but Bayern Munich.
Bayern were firm favourites to sign but Jurgen Klopp who then was the manager of Borrusia Dortmund contacted him and tried persuading him to join him at BVB. Klopp believed the Brazilian had the prerequisite skill sets to make Dortmund the best club in Germany and probably the world.
Sadly, the transfer negotiation broke down and he sealed his move to Bayern Munich to join Pep Guardiola.
At Bayern, Thiago has created a legacy for himself by winning 15 trophies including 7 consecutive Bundesliga titles. He won all there’s to win and now wants to prove himself in the Premier League with a manager who has always appreciated since he made his debut for Barcelona on May 17, 2009.
Klopp beleived then and still believes now that the midfield maestro has more to offer and with Liverpool, he will make them the best.
