The simple reasons why Jordan Henderson don’t want Philippe Coutinho back at Liverpool

Philippe Coutinho’s decision to ditch Liverpool for Barcelona back in 2018 felt like a wound that might never heal.

The Brazilian was loved by everyone and trusted by the manager Jurgen Klopp who built his team around him even though made them predictable. But with Coutinho’s incredible skill sets, Liverpool always found a way to win.

Sadly that had to end one day. Coutinho wanted more than just been the main man at the club, he wanted to win trophies and felt Barcelona was the right place to be not Anfield. He wanted to win trophies like Luis Suarez and not stagnate like Dirk Kuyt who spent 7 years of his stellar career at Liverpool only to win just one trophy {the Caraboa Cup}.

Driving by need to win titles, Coutinho forced his move despite been warned by Jurgen Klopp who famouly said to him: ‘Stay at Liverpool and they will build you a stature for you but, go to Barcelona and you will just be another player”.

How right was Klopp! Coutinho is not just another player at Barcelona, he is an outcast.

Barcelona want him gone and wouldn’t mind taking $80m or $60m if the big clubs don’t bid 100m or more for him. The Brazilian has digress and Jordan Henderson is fully aware of that.

Henderson don’t want Coutinho back because of this three reasons:

1. Liverpool no longer depend on a single individual to win games-

Liverpool don’t rely on anyone to win matches. Yes! they have three fantastic attackers who score goals regularly but they’re others like Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Van Dijk, Chamberlian and even Adam Lallana who can score goals.

2. Liverpool no longer rely on individual to create passing moves or assists-

Surprisingly, Liverpool’s most creative player is their right full back Trent Alexander Arnold. The 21-year-old holds a Guinness World Record for the most assists under 21 (22 goals). The English man is a dead ball specialists and his pin point crosses coupled with his creativity have massively helped Liverpool.

Arnold along with Andrew Robertson are Liverpool’s most creative players.

3. Coutinho’s presence will disrupt the team’s rhythm-

If Coutinho were to return to Liverpool who will he bench.? In midfield, Liverpool have four of the best midfielders in the world- ‘Jordan Henderson, Gigi Wijnaldum, Fabinho and James Milner’. Those four can run for the entire 90 minutes and press relentlessly. Even the likes of Adam Lallana {who single-handily destroyed Everton’s midfield in the FA Cup}, Oxlade Chamberlian and Naby Keita are all better than him.

In attack, Jurgen Klopp will not even dear dropping Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino for Coutinho. Those three will always play when fit. Don’t forget Divock Origi and Timo Minamino are both waiting for thiere chance.

Jordan Henderson know this and that is why he said: “Philippe Coutinho’s time at Liveprool has passed”.
