4 Top Players Ronald Koeman Wants Barcelona To Sign This Summer

According to Marca, Ronald Koeman has called on Barcelona to strengthen the team by signing four or three top players this summer. The manager is fully aware that Barcelona do not have millions to spend and has therefore limited his requests.

The manager also knows Barcelona has slumped to mediocrity and it will now take time and patience to get them back to echelon of football. The first step to get Barcelona back on track is to create an identity of football similar to Johan Cruyff philosophy before signing or promoting players from the academy who can fit into that model.

And finally, using the improvised philosophy to win both domestic and European trophies consistently.

Gini WIjnaldum– According to the Mail, Ronald Koeman has called on Gini Wijnaldum not to extend his contract with Liverpool and instead join him at Barcelona. Koeman wants to play his dutch counterpart in a more offensive position due to his powerful running, dribbling skills and precise finishing.

Wijnaldum who still has a year left in his Liverpool contract is seriously considering the movel.

Lautaro Martinez– Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Inter Milan’s highly rated striker Lautaro Martinez. The 24-year-old striker is seen as the long term replacement of Luis Suarez who will likely be leaving the club this summer.

Ronald Koeman is a fan of the striker and can’t wait to start working with him.

Eric Garcia– Manchester City’s embattled defender Eric Garcia is close to reaching an agreement to join Barcelona. The defender wants to play for Barcelona cause he feels there’s a huge possibility he will have a long and successful career at Camp Nou rather than the Etihad.

Donny Van De Beek– According to Goal.com, Ronald Koeman has expressively asked Barcelona to sign Ajax’s super talented play maker Van De Beek. The talented dutch midfielder has impressed many coaches across Europe including Koeman who feels he posses the prerequisite skills sets to form a formidable partnership alongside De Jong and Sergio Busquet at Barcelona.

The 23-year-old Dutch international will join Barcelona if they can pay his $39m asking price.
