Opinion: 3 Reasons Why Chelsea Won’t Win The Premier League Title

Chelsea have revamped their squad by signing some of the finest players in Europe. They brought in exceptionally talented players as well as experienced veterans who have won it all and played in the biggest games in the World.

The club invested heavily in signing 6 incredible players but the best of the lot happens to be the 35-year-old Thiago Silva. The experienced veteran might be at the wrong side of age but make no mistake, he is still fast, strong and tactically adapt to fit into the Premier League and lead any team to victory.

Chelsea will be aiming to win the Premier League title but they’re three reasons why that ambition will fail.

Fitting the new players into a team and carving out an identity- Chelsea won’t automatically have the best team in Europe just because they’ve incredible players. The manager will need time to work with his new players as he attempts to fit all of them into a working system.

Lampard will certainly experiment with the team before getting the best out of each of then and then launching a title bid.

Dressing room harmony and rivalry- Teams that win trophies usually have a well balanced dressing room with no cliques or groups. Frank Lampard’s first job is to ensure his star studded squad don’t split into factions or groups and compete unnecessary with each other.

The manager must unite his new players with the old ones and ensure those who regularly play will always be considered first ahead of the new comers. The likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Fikyo Tomori or N’Golo Kante will all want to be assured they’ve a role to play at Chelsea football club.

Consistency, winning mentality and managerial experience– If Chelsea are to win the Premier League title they will a level of consistency to match the best in the Premier League- Liverpool.

The players must also have a huge winning mentality and never give up if though the game looks lost and gone. Liverpool succeeded in winning late matches because the players never stopped believing and scored two or three goals with just 10 or 5 minutes left to play.

Managerial experience also plays a huge part in winning trophies. Manager or assistant managers who have won trophy before knows what is needed to win trophies. Zinedine Zinedine, Mikel Arteta, Hansi Flick {current Bayern Munich manager} were once assistant managers and today they’re the best in the business.

Frank Lampad and Chelsea will need time to inculcate all three aspect {consistency, winning mentality and manageria experience} before winning trophies.
