The pulsating clash between Southampton vs Tottenham Hotspur have ended with seven goals been scored at the Saint Mary’s. The home side started the game enthusiastically and went ahead through a well taken Danny Ings goal.
Ings goal instantly sparked Spurs to live as Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son took charge of the game and telepathically torn Southampton to Shreds.
Son scored in closing minutes of the first half after been found by Harry Kane with a lovely pass. The south Korean did do most of the work by darting into space, opening his body and smashing ball past the goalkeeper to restore parity going into half time.
Second half started in breath neck speed as Son scored 3 more goals to make it 4-1 thanks to Harry Kane who assisted him in all. Kane did eventually score one for himself to cap off the evening.
Strangely, Southampton were avoided a penalty in the closing minute of the game of which Danny Ings converted to make it 5-2. If Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon were watching, they will certainly be convinced they’ve made the right choice to ditch Real Madrid for Tottentham.
