Liverpool Vs. Arsenal: Why Mikel Arteta’s Much Improved Arsenal Will Crumble At Anfield

Under Mikel Arteta’s tutelage, Arsenal have been transformed into one of the best club in the Premier league. The Gunners now have an identity that don’t necessary translate to possession based football but quick and full of verve.

Arsenal is a top side and their opening matches of the season have seen them win all three encounters against Fulham, West Ham and Leicester City in the EFL {Caraboa Cup}.

The victories are encouraging and morale boasting but Arsenal are yet to test themselves against the very best in the league. A team with a point to prove, a league trophy to protect and home record to keep intact.

Liverpool are unbeaten in 60 home matches in the Premier League and against Arsenal, they’ve gone eight years without losing at home. Although, the Reds lost 2-1 to Arsenal thanks to some comical defending from Van Dijk and Alisson Becker but before that encounter Liverpool had already wrapped up the title and playing the remaining 7 games for formalities.

Winning or losing meant nothing during those phases cause Liverpool were already champions.

But on Monday, Liverpool will play the game with more convictions, determination and vigour. They will attack relentlessly until Arsenal crack. The summer acquisitions of Thiago Alcantara has finally given Liverpool that creativity in the middle of the park.

The Brazilian will be pulling the strings in midfield while finding channels for the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino to run in to. Thiago won’t be the only creativity spark in the team, the likes of Trent Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson will be sending in point point crosses to the forwards.

Anfield will no doubt be like a war zone and the sheer pressure will crush Arsenal.
