The reigning Premier League champions Liverpool have crashed out of the Caraboa Cup after losing 6-4 to Arsenal on penalties. The Reds were better team in all ramification and created lots of goal scoring chances only for the Bern Leno to pull out 7 world class saves to deny.
Arsenal did threaten in the second half with WIllock, Nketiah and Holding all coming close to scoring but failing to apply the finishing touch.
With no one capable of scoring, the ran out its course and entered the penalty shoot out which saw Liverpool take the lead through Milner before Lacazette made it 1-1. Both side cancelled each until Elnenly missed his chance thanks to a brilliant dive from Adrain.
It felt an advantage was presented until Divock Origi reminded everyone why he is not good enough to replace Roberto Firmino by playing the ball in the same direction Elnenly played and missed. Leno dived cleraly to his left and stopped the ball from smashing the back of the net.
Willock scored the 6th and final game to send Arsenal to the quarter final fo the competition while Liverpool crash out from a competition they really believed they will win this season.
