Liverpool will be signing a central defender this January after their most reliable centre- halve Virgil van Dijk suffered a horrendous injury to his knee.
The 29-year-old Dutch captain will miss the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament damage which he suffered against Everton in the Merseyside derby. His injury is a big blow to Liverpool’s title defense but, Jurgen Klopp still believes his team will be in contention to win multiple titles with or without Van DIjk.
Jamie Carragher meanwhile, has revealed that Liverpool are interested in Wolves star Conor Coady, RB Leipzig’s highly rated defender Dayot Upamecano and Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger.
Two of the aforementioned defenders will cost Liverpool £30m to £50m to sign and will require regular first team football while the third, ‘Antonio Rudiger’, will gladly join on a six month loan without a fuss.
Been German, working with Jurgen Klopp won’t be hard nor settling into the first team.
