The Champions League heavy weights Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have all won their opening games of the season with comfortable victories.
Liverpool defeated Ajax 1-0 courtesy of an own goal from from N. Tagliafico who couldn’t find his bearings right. His deflected shot ensured Liverpool who are without their talismanic defender Virgil van Dijk recorded a victory and a clean.
Manchester City meanwhile crawled back from the brink of defeat to beat FC Porto 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium. L. Diaz did score first for Porto but, City weren’t ready to go down easily and equalized through Sergio Aguero from the spot before IIkay Gundogan made it 2-1 and then Forren Torres killed it off with fine finish.
The reigning European champions began their defense with a 4-0 thrashing of Atletico Madrid. Their superiority and dominance were evident for all to see despite the absence of Sergi Gnabry who test to Covid-19 or, the sell of Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool.
Bayern Munich are the team to beat this season and not Real Madrid who lost 3-2 to Shakter Donetsk at home.
