The pulsating clash between Manchester City and Liverpool have ended in stalemate. The Reds have ended their 3 year Premier League defeat at Etihad Stadium by picking up a vital point that sees them go top of the Premier League table.
Liverpool took the initiative after the referee had adjudged that Kyle Walker brought down Sadio Mane inside the box.
The decision was a good one on Liverpool side who had earlier escaped similar punishment after Raheem Sterling was tackle harshly but stood on his feet. Had the English gone down theatrically, City would’ve be awarded an early penalty.
City did push with purpose and conviction and later got a goal through a brilliant pass from De Bruyne who found Gabriel Jesus inside his box. Jesus did most of the work by turning brilliantly and firing past Alisson Becker.
Although, City did get their penalty Joe Gomez handle the ball with his arm but, a big miss from De Bruyne ensured that Liverpool and Klopp will leave with a point.
Pep Guardiola will certainly be unhappy with the score line knowing that Liverpool’s still remain top and now have the confidence to play the best Premier League team at home and either pick a point or win.
