Barcelona are aiming to revamp their aging and depleted squad this January by signing at least 3 of the finest players in Europe. The club manager Ronald Koeman has called for a centre forward, a versatile winger and a defender.
His demands are reasonable knowing how average Barcelona is at the moment but, to buy, the club must sell some of their fringe players for a reasonable prince. In fact, Barcelona could go as far as selling at least two of thier first team players to sign world class players.
Why? Barca don’t have millions to blow in the transfer market due to the Covid-19 pandemics that have seen most clubs struggle to balance their books.
The club must sell Samuel Umtiti, Junior Firpo, Martin Braithwaite, Matheus Fernandes, Carles Alena and Riqui Puig to sign Memphis Depay, Luataro Martinez and Eric Garcia this January or in the summer.
Presently, Barcelona’s biggest problem is the defense and they will certainly do all they can to bring in Eric Garcia this January rather than letting him run down his remaining 6 months contract with Manchester City. He will cost Barca $15m to sign this January.
