Liverpool have registered their interest in signing Real Madrid’s most successful captain Sergio Ramos. The 34-year-old will leave Real Madrid this summer if they refuse to offer him a 2 or 3 year contract and not a one year contract.
Madrid’ are fully aware Ramos turns 35 at the end of the season and would certainly depreciate as he ages. Liverpool meanwhile feel Ramos will still remain in peak condition takes to improvement in sport science that helped players in their late thirties still remain fit and mobile.
The Reds are interested in the defender but, it would be difficult convincing the likes of Mohamed Salah whose arms was deliberately broken by Sergio Ramos in the 2018 Champiosn League final at Kiev to share the same dressing room with him.
Neither will be it easy to convince Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Gini Wijnaldum and even Jordan Henderson to share the same dressing room with Ramos.
According to the Mirror, Liverpool could also be signing David Alaba who is poised to leave Bayern Munich this January or in the summer.
Alaba, 28, still remains one of the best defender in the world but, his wage demands might scuffle any deal with Liverpool. The Mirror reports that Alaba wants £260,000-a-week which is too rich for Liverpool;. The Reds highest paid player is Mohamed Salah who currently earns £200,000-a-week followed by Virgil van Dijk on £190,000-a-week.
According to Dutch paper De Telegraaf, Ajax have named their asking price for Perr Schuurs who Liveprool are reporteldy interested in signing this January.
