Brighton 1- 1 Liverpool: VAR Is Killing The Beautiful Game

Another game, another poor decision made by the video assistant referee or the VAR in the premier league.

The referees are killing the league which many fervent fans rate as the best in the world due to its fast and furious displays. Brighton vs. Liverpool was never a draw.

It was close no doubt about that. But the overall display from the men in Red was head and shoulder above the white stripped blue.

Brighton did have the chance to score but they missed a spot plus and a clear cut chance in front of goal. Liverpool meanwhile scored what was an absolutely beautiful goal from Mohamed Salah which sadly didn’t count.

A stupid decision from VAR called it off for offside.

Cancelling Mohamed Salah’s goal is a crime against football. It clearly illustrates how average the Premier League referees here.

In 76th minute, Dijo Jota scored to put Liverpool in front but another stupid decision from the VAR awarded Brighton a spot kick.

Andrew Robertson is a defender and his first instinct is to clear the ball off danger. Blaming him for attempting to clear the ball off Danny Welback who was in no position shoot or even get close to the ball was sadly stupid.

Premier League can’t continue like this. The game is becoming boring as well as irritating. Referees must improve before people find reasons to switch off the TV.
