The most reliable defender Van Dijk is currently ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament damage while Joe Gomez is out for five months with a knee injury..
Joel Matip on the other hand is battling with hamstring, back pains, calf problems and the list goes on..
Injuries to the Reds defenders have forced Liverpool to open talks with several defenders including Napoli captain Kalidou Koulibaly.
Koulibaly is open to moving to Anfield but Liverpool must pay $55m for the 30-year-old defender who has proven over the years he is a top, top defender.
