Manchester City star Eric Garcia has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona. The 19-year-old will become a free agent this summer but, has quickly tied his future to Barcelona who he admires as a fan and a player.
The defender wants to return to Barcelona cause he feels he can be Gerard Pique’s long term replacement and win lots of trophies like the legendary centre back.
According to AS Sport, Garcia won’t be the only player joining Barcelona for free this summer, the club have reportedly approached Gini Wijnaldum with a much better contract than Liverpool.
Wijnaldum earns £70,000-a-week at Liverpool which frankly is too low for a player of such pedigree. Barcelona are aware of his earnings have cleverly offered to double it this summer.
The Blaugrana giants will have the funds to pay Wijnaldum after they sell five or six of their fringe players this summer.
They are hoping to sell the likes of Samuel Umtiti who earns £70,000-a-week but contributes little or nothing to the club. The French defender is surplus to requirement and free to leave this January if a good offer comes in for him.
