Lionel Messi is on the verge of missing 4 to 12 matches after letting his frustration boil out of control in the Spanish Super Cup final between Barcelona vs Athletic BIlboa.

Messi was brandished a red card in the dying minute of the match for driving a massive blow to Asier Villalibre’s head. The impact of blow through Villalibre off course and his loud scream as he landed to ground caught the attention of the referee who out of respect waited for the VAR to review the incident.

The VAR adjudged it was a red card and the referee had no option to send Messi off. But, the sending off could come back to hurt Lionel Messi and Barcelona.

If the foul was termed too aggressive, Messi will miss 4 to 12 games and not, he will miss 1-3 matches.

According to Sky Sports, Eric Garcia has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Barcelona this summer. The defender wants to return to Barcelona and continue his development under the tutelage of Ronald Koeman.

Garcia feels he can be the long replacement of Gerard Pique and become a legend at Barcelona.

Sky Sports further reports that Liverpool star Gini WIjnaludm will join Barcelona at the end of the season.

The highly rated midfielder will leave Liverpool as a free agent and join Barcelona or any club willing to double his current wages. Wijnaldum currently earns £70,000-a-week and he feels a player of his class deserves to be earning above £100,000 or even £200,0000-a-week.

If Paul Pogba can earn £295,000-a-week why should a player like him who always turns up in Europe nights {Barcelona} be earning £70,000-a-week.
