Gini Wijnaldum will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season after failing to reach an agreement with the club.
The box to box midfielder has no intention of etching his signature on a £70,000-a-week contract when he can get a better offer with one Europe’s biggest clubs.
Wijnaldum might want to leave but at the moment, he is one of Liverpool’s most hardworking and reliable player and his departure will certainly be felt by the club.
But, the Reds are trying to reduce the impact by signing West Ham’s highly rated midfielder Declan Rice. The 24-year-old is technically good, strong on the ball and versatile.
Rice can play as a holding midfielder, a central midfielder and a defender. His skillsets are impressive for an English man and Liverpool are now planning to bring him in as Wijnaldum’s long term replacement.
According to the Sunday Times, former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez will be the next manager of Celtic FC. Benitez will replace the underperforming Neil Lennon and try to restore the club’s dented image.
Although, taking the job will mean he will become an instant rival to Steven Gerrard who now manages the best team in Scottish league Rangers.
Benitez vs Gerrard will certainly be an eye catching highlights.
The Sunday Times further reports that Kylian Mbappe is interested in playing for Liverpool. The 22-year-old has suspended signing a contract extension with PSG cause he wants to see how far the club can go in the UEFA Champions league.
Mbappe wants to win the Champions League along with other trophies but if PSG can’t offer him his heart desire, he might as well move to Liverpool or Real Madrid who need a sparkling player of his caliber.
