Manchester United 3-2 Liverpool: Klopp Need A Defender & 5 Things We Learnt

Liverpool might have lost to Manchester United in an enthralling contest at Old Trafford but, they were periods in that game that showed why Liverpool are the Premier League champions.

The Reds were mesmerizing to watch in moments and their incisive passes cut United defense into half. They score two goals which certainly would’ve been enough if only they had a top centre back to keep Rashford and others at bay.

Liverpool must sting a defender or risk going trophy-less this season- Liverpool can’t continue to deny the fact that they need a centre back.

They can’t continue to drop out of competitions and still be expecting their superstars to be happy. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Wijnaldum and others are not happy. They want to win numerous trophies not just the Premier league and the Champions League.

Manchester United are in form– Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a fantastic job in getting Manchester United back in contention of winning major trophies. The team now needs one or two players to be the best in the Premier League.

Klopp’s substitution were completely wrong– Klopp’s decision to take out both Thiago and Wijnaldum instantly killed Liverpool. Thiago is brain child of Liverpool’s play while Wijnaldum drives the team forward.

Removing both men meant the creativity and drive was lost. Liverpool didn’t have one single shot on attempts immediately Thiago left the pitch that is to show how instrumental he is their play.

Klopp can’t afford to mistake that same mistake again, he can’t take out Thiago and Wijnaldum unless Jordan Henderson is in midfield and not in defence.

Alisson Becker was average against Mancehster United– No disrespect to the Brazilian but Jurgen Klopp made a big mistake playing him today.

He should have played Killoaher today and not Alisson. The youngster must have stopped one or two of the shoots that crept pass Alisson like Henderson did to stop Mohamed Salah from scoring a hat-trick.

Pogba, Rashford, Shaw and Fernandes are in form- Manchester United will certainly finish in the top 4 this season and hopefully win a trophy or two thanks to the incredible form of four of their players.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a fantastic job and the club will be thanking the heavens for giving him more time to prove himself rather than sacking him.
