Liverpool defender Joel Matip will miss two weeks of action after suffering an ankle ligament damage in the Reds 3-1 win over Spurs.
Sadly, the defender had just returned from an Adductor injury he picked up against Burnley and now, he is set to miss two weeks of action.
Matip is currently the only Liverpool player to have suffered 8 different injuries in just 4 months. The regularity of his injuries is mind blowing knowing that Liverpool need fit to cover for both Van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Jurgen Klopp is fully aware of the defenders injury problems but he has no option than to patch him up time after time.
According to Liverpool.com, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has called on the management to do it can to sign him a defender. The injury to Fabinho, Matip along with Van Dijk and Joe Gomez has stretched the club beyond limit.
Now, Jordan Henderson who also has his own record of injuries is now tasked to keep the ball out of the net. If Henderson picks up an injury or, suffers cramp, Klopp will then be forced to play Rhys Wiliams and Nat Philipps in goal.
Good news though is that Fabinho will be back to face West Ham. The Brazilian is currently suffering cramp and needs time to recover.
Klopp decided against playing him against Spurs and picked Henderson ahead of the Brazilian. But with Matip out for 2 weeks with an ankle ligament problem, Klopp will have to recall him to partner Jordan Henderson in defense against West Ham.
