Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has revealed that one of his most reliable defender will miss the rest of the season.
Joe Gomez had surgery to repair a ruptured patellar tendon in November and that will take at least five months to heal properly before he commences light training.
Klopp can’t see him returning soon and admitted he will be surprised if Gomez plays a part in the Reds season. For now, Joe Gomez and Virigl van Dijk will both be missing the season therefore, the need to sign a defender is very imperative.
According to Sport Witness, Liverpool will allow Adrian and Sepp Den Berg leave the club this January. Adrain is the Reds choice keeper after Caimon Killeher and Alisson Becker while Sepp Den Berg needs to go on loan and play regular football.
Sepp will one day be a first team player at Liverpool but if wants to achieve that fate, he has to play regular football and gain the needed experiences needed to break into the first team. He has talents but they’re other facets of his game that needs to improve.
Liverpool are advanced negotiations to sign Lille’s highly rated defender Sven Botman. The 21-year-old posses the prerequisite skillsets to fill in absence of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Botman arrival will come as big news to Liverpool fans and players after news filtered out that both Van Dijk and Gomez will miss the rest of the season. Sadly, Joel Matip is not fit enough to withstand the pressure and Fabinho is beginning to battle with cramps.
The Dutch defender will join Liverpool on loan before a fee believed to be $20m will be paid for him in the summer.
