Barcelona star Gerard Pique is on the verge of been banned for 4-12 games for insinuating that half of La Liga referees favour Real Madrid during official match duties.
Pique might be referencing the statement made by former La Liga referee Eduardo Iturraide Gonzalez, who claimed that many La Liga referees are La Liga supporters or they live in the Spanish capital which will always impede their judgment.
Gonzalez statement might not carry much weight but when it comes out from the mouth of a Barcelona nad Spain legend people will certainly take it serious.
The integrity Department of the Spanish FA’s Competition Committee are now actively investigating the comments and if Pique is found to be wrong he will be banned for 4-12 games along with small fine of £525 to £2600.
According to AS Sport journalist Javi Miguel, Barcelona will have to avoid using Philippe Coutinho for the remainder of the campaign in other to avoid triggering another transfer clause in his Liverpool deal.
If Coutinho should pay 7 more games, Barcelona will have to pay Liverpool 5m more which the club don’t have at the moment. Barcelona are owing Liverpool alone £25m and £112m to 18 different clubs.
In fact, Barcelona has pleaded with banks to dealy repayments so they can avoid insolvency.
Marca further reports that Lionel Messi has told his closet friends and allies that he will be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season.
The player has lost the interest of staying for another season and struggling for top 4 football without trophies whereas, he can move to Manchester City or PSG and win multiple trophies along with a shot of winning the Champions League.
Messi is 33 now and needs to win as much trophy as possible before retiring.
