Barcelona’s greatest midfielder Xavi Hernandez has confirmed his intention of returning next summer to manage Barcelona.
Although, the 41-year-old wants to see Ronald Koeman do well as the club and he is no hurry to ditch Qatari based Al Sadd to return to Camp Nou.
He will only return when the next president of the club ‘be it Joan Laporta or Victor Fonte’ feel its time Koeman steps down for a new manager to step in.
Xavi who amassed over 767 appearances for Barcelona in his 17 years reign wants to be given major say who the club signs or sells. Once that is done, expect him to arrival this summer.
According to AS Sport, Lionel Messi will not extend his contract with Barcelona and will leave the club as a free agent this summer.
Messi decision to leave Barcelona is down to the club’s decline over the years and in their inability to win more trophies as he reaches the age of his scintillating career.
He wants to win more league, domestic and European trophies but sadly, the current Barcelona team don’t have what it takes to help achieve his dreams.
PSG are the firm favouries to sign him but, the Parisian club will face competition from Manchester City and Juventus. Clubs from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and even America has all enquired about him.
This summer, Barcelona will alone four of their veterans leave the club. The Catanlunya giants will allow the likes of Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquet, Jordi Alba and Samuel Umtiti leave the club.
Those four have outlived their usefulness and needs to leave so can sign replacements or promote their academy players to take over.
