Chelsea have succeeded in beating Atletico Madrid thanks to emphatic finish from Olivier Giroud. The French man scored a sublime overhead kick which was initially disallowed for offside.
But under review from VAR spotted that Atletico’s Mario Hermason nudged the ball twoards the striker and not Mason Mount.
Giroud’s super striker was the difference in the first leg of the Champions League and away goal advantage will certainly give Thomas Tuchel something to build on.
On Atletico Madrid part, Diego Simone will have more question to ask than answers. His team’s form ha nosedived over the weeks and there’s a strong possibility he will lose the La Liga title to Real Madrid and probably get knocked of the Champions League by Chelsea.
Simone must go back to the drawing board and find solutioins to its team’s very poor showing.
