When will Manchester City win the Champions League trophy? No one knows not even Pep Guardiola whose team have grown in confidence having won 19 consecutive games in all competition.
Manchester City is the strongest team in the Premier League and their 10 points lead over second placed Manchester United proves it. Added to that, they’re through to the Caraboa Cup final and the quarter final of the FA Cup.
Winning the domestic treble for a second time in two seasons looks possible but, the domestic trophies won’t be the parameters which Pep Guardiola will be judged now or after he leaves City. He will be judged on his exploit in the European stage.
Questions will be asked on why he failed to win the Champions league. A trophy which City have never won in their history and still aiming to win it.
City’s present team is arguably the strongest team in Europe and their confidence is sky high. And with Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne now back for selection, City have a world class team that rival the current European champions Bayern Munich.
But, knowing Pep Guardiola and his quest for perfection he will run down the team with his pursuit for more wins and silverwares. No one is getting rest, its play, play and play until the legs can no longer run.
Probably, that is the reason why Manchester City will not win the Champions League under Pep Guaridola cause the manager will not prioritize the Champions League trophy ahead of domestic trophies.
He will give the same excuse as the last four season and say the following words to press when asked about his failures in Europe’s biggest competition, ‘We will win it one day. We try again next season’.
