Barcelona star Ansu Fati and Philippe Coutinho could miss the rest of the season due to severe injuries.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Coutinho will remain sidelined for several months after injuring the external meniscus in his left knee. His knee is still swollen and his return date is still not known.
The midfielder did undergo a surgery back in January 2 and a recovery period of three months was set but unfortunately, Coutinho’s swollen knee haven’t subsided and talks of him returning this season looks highly unlikely.
Coutinho though is not the player set to be sidelined for the rest of the season, he will joined by Ansu Fati whose knee have developed complications.
The attacker is set for a second surgery on the internal meniscus in his left knee. Fati will certainly miss the rest of the season as he battles to recover from his damaged left knee.
Mundo Deportivo further reports that Barcelona are aiming to swap Junior Firpo with Arsenal’s pacy right back Hector Bellerin.
The former La Masia graduate is seen as the ideal player to replace Dani Alves. Arsenal though aren’t interested in selling but if a good offer comes in, they will listen.
Lionel Messi will extend his contract with Barcelona if the club wins this season’s La Liga title and shows him a viable long term project.
He loves Barcelona and wants to retire at the club he calls home. But if Barcelona finishes trophy- less and incoming president don’t show him a reasonable project, he will move to PSG or Manchester City where his chances of winning 10 trophies in 3 seasons is possible.
