The police force of Catalonia better known as ‘Mossos d’Esquadra’ has commenced a search on Barcelona’s offices this week. The police are hoping to find incrementing evidences against the club’s directors that illegally promoted a smear campaign against their rule.
Reports emerged last year that Barcelona former board paid some social media companies to stalk and promote some innocuous posts about certain individuals or players who challenged Josep Maria Bartomeu leadership.
The allegation was then tagged ‘Barca gate’.
Such embarrassing revelation promoted the court to issue an arrest on former club president Josep Maria Bartomeu along with former directors like Oscar Grau, Roman Gomez Ponti and lawyer Jaume Masferrer. Other directors are been tracked and arrested.
Marca.com further reported that companies such as I3 Ventures SL, NSG Social Science Ventures SL, Tantra Soft SA, Digital Side SA, Big Data Solutions SA and Futuric SA where responsible in prompting disparaging posts or comments about players or personality.
