Liverpool News: Henderson & Dijk To Face Real Madrid, Pulisic ‘Open To Joining Reds’ And Boussema To Replace Wijnaldum

Liverpool’s most reliable defender Virgil van Dijk will likely be fit enough to face Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter final.

The defender has miraculously recovered from a cruciate ligament damage he suffered in the Merseyside derby. His availability is a massive boast to Liverpool’s chances of knocking Madrid out of the tournament and progressing to the semis.

Although, Madrid won’t be easy to beat but with Van Dijk and Jordan Henderson set to be back in time for the clash, there’s a massive chance of winning.

According to the Athletic, Chelsea’s highly rated winger Christian Pulisic could be heading to Anfield this Summer.

The 22-year-old American international has found game time hard to come by under Thomas Tuchel who has preferred Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz or Tammhy Abraham ahead of the America.

Sadly, Chelsea will revamp the squad yet again this summer by bringing in more world class attackers.

New arrivals means Pulisic will further be pushed down the picking order and eventually out of the club. But before that happens, Pulisic will be given the option to join Liverpool who are offering the chance to play first team football.

The Athletic further reports that Liveprool will sign Brighton defender Yves Boussema as Gini Wijnaldum’s long term replacement.

Wijnaldum will leave Liverpool at the end of the season having rejected a contract extension due to the low wage. Jurgen Klopp wants him to stay but, the club feels they bring in a better, strong, much versatile midfielder than the Dutch.

Michael Edwards, Liverpool Sporting director, is currently eyeing Boussema as his replacement.
