Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Borrusia Dormtund star Erling Haalnd. The club president Joan Laporta feels the 20-year-old Norwegian international posses the firepower needed to help the club fight for domestic and European trophies.
But, signing Haaland will cost a lot of millions. The attacker will cost Barcelona or any club interested in his service £154m to sign and £300,000-a-week wages.
Such astronomical investment is out of Barca’s reach due to their £1.2b debt profile.
Thankfully, Barcelona have alternatives to Haaland. They can equally sign Inter Milan’s highly rated attacker Lautaro Martinez. The Argentinean is a top striker and his arrival will certainly boast Barca’s fire power.
Secondly, his presence will go a long way in convincing Lionel Messi to sign a contract extension. Messi will now have a friend and partner to work with.
