Barcelona: Messi Targets La Liga Title, Dembele Rejects Contract And Aguero Agrees To Join

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is optimistic of hoisting aloft a second domestic trophy this season. Messi lifted the Copa Del Rey on Saturday by putting a memorable performance in the Catalunya’s 4-0 win over Athletic Bilboa.

Messi is hoping the Copa Del Rey won’t be the only trophy he wins this season, he is aiming for the La LIga title.

Barcelona are 5 points behind Atletico Madrid but a have a game in hand against Getefe to close the gap to 2 just points.

According to AS Sport, Ousame Dembele is yet to sign a contract extension with Barcelona.

The French international has a year and 6 months left to run on his existing contract and Barcelona are not in the mood the 23-year-old leave for free having spent over 105m in signing from Borussia Dortmund 3 seasons ago.

Dembele is a huge investment and can only leave Camp Nou if another interested clubs is willing to pay over 50m for his service. He will not be allowed to run down his contract, he will be sold.

Barcelona have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign Manchester City’s all time goal scorer Sergio Aguero.

The diminutive striker will leave City at the end of season having struggled with fitness and injury problems. His departure was meant with mixed emotions from the fans who remembers his emphatic last minute goal back in 2011 that kick started City’s dominance.

But, his departure will come as good news to Barcelona who are dire need of a world class striker to deputize alongside Lionel Messi. If he joins Barcelona and manage to discover his brilliant best, Barcelona will certainly win the La Liga title next season.
