The European Super League is dead and buried but shamefully three directors or presidents are refusing to accept that fate.
Andrea Agnelli of Juventus, Joan Laporta of Barcelona and Florentino Perez of Real Madrid have remained adamant that the European Super League must go ahead due to the binding contract signed by all 12 clubs. Those three are pushing for the tournament as if they lives depend on it.
Perez is now football’s doom prophet. He foresees a future were football club’s will run out of football and he now wants to stop that from happening. But, UEFA and everyone who loves football is trying to stop him.
That action from Perez and his band of brothers has forced UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin to issue to all three presidents and the clubs. They’ve to stop clamouring from the dead and buried European Super League or face the risk of been banned from next year’s tournaments.
UEFA can’t have three disoriented presidents in midst of other presidents who have realized UEFA means well for everyone. They are either in or out of all UEFA’s club competition.
FIFA president Glen Infantino clearly backs Aleskadir Caferin on that path and once ban is issued, the world governing body will support it.
After all, the soul of football is the fans not Perez, Agnelli or Laporta.
