The end of a cycle has reached and the process of rebuilding the squad will see Barcelona bid farewell to some of the club’s biggest names.
Just like in the 2007/08 season when a drastic change was needed to get Barcelona back into contention of wining European trophies and dominating the domestic league, the club must apply similar tactics in dealing with the currant situation.
Joan Laporta was the man in charge of that project under Pep Guardiola and he is trying to replicate that achievment with Ronald Koeman or Xavi Hernandez who many beleive possess similiar coaching ability to Pep Guardiola.
Those Staying at the club
Lionel Messi- Messi might be turning 34 this June but, Messi is still head and shoulder above every other Barcelona player. In fact, only Karim Benzema and Luis Suarez have come to match Messi this season. He will be staying at the club.

Inaki Pena- Is young and still has more to learn. He will stay.
Roberto Araujo- He will stay, the lad is the future of Barcelona.

Illaix Moriba- The talented defender will not be sold this summer or the next, he will stay on..
Pedri- The flight footed attacking midfielder will not be sold this summer or the next fore sable future. Pedri is the heir to Andres Iniesta which means he will retire at the club.

Samuel Umtiti- A top defender when fit but a liability when injured. He will be sold this summer.
