Barcelona president Joan Laporta has reportedly told Ronald Koeman that he will not be the club’s manager come next season. He will likely be fired once a deal is reached with the next manager.
The club informed Koeman and his agent Rob Jensen of the decision on Tuesday deadlock meetings. Koeman is yet to speak about the imminent sacking and the 15 day window Barcelona have asked to find his replacement as well as his compensation.
Laporta’s first choice to replace Ronald Koeman is Xavi Hernandez who shares similar attributes to Pep Guardiola.
If Xavi does accept the managerial position, Barcelona will do all it can to strengthen the squad for him. Already, the club have reached agreement to sign Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Liverpool’s sensational midfielder GIni Wijnaldum.
