Barcelona are reportedly closing in on signing Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte after reaching an agreement with the player.
The former Athletic Bilboa defender is developing a keen interest in the Spanish way of live after accepting to play for them by receiving a Spanish citizenship and later called up by Luis Enrique to participate in the 2020 European Championship with Spain, despite playing for France’s youth sides.
Laporte now wants to move to Spain after the Euros and play for Barcelona.
Manchester City though won’t miss him that much due to the incredible display of Rubian Dias and the inform John Stones who both formed a formidable partnership.
City will sign another defender this summer and will use part of the money realized from Aymeric Laporte sale to strengthen the defence.
Barcelona though are recruiting wisely having signed the likes of Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia, Emerson and others. The club don’t a lot of money to blow in the transfer market but will bring in players who can help them in the long and short them while getting rid of average players.
