Arsenal have reportedly doubled up on their effort to sign Barcelona midfield maestro Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian international is currently deemed surplus to requirement and free to leave the club this summer once his asking price is been meant.
Coutinho is available for just €45m, €100m less than what Barcelona paid Liverpool to sign him back in 2018.
His asking price looks favourable but his wages could prove to be huge stumbling block for Arsenal or whoever is interested in signing him. The 28-year-old is one of Barcelona’s best paid player in €220,000-a-week despite struggling for first team football.
Barcelona frankly want him gone along with 7 other fringe players and if Arsenal can convince him to join them, he will be gone in a flash.
