Champions out: Belgium eliminates Portugal and ends Ronaldo’s dream

Belgium are through to the quarter final of the Euros after dumping out holders Portugal. The game was tightly contested with both sides creating few chances on goal and having their respective keepers pulling out world class saves.

Belgium meanwhile had Hazard, not the ‘fat one’ but the younger, fitter and explosive left wing back to thank for putting them one head. His right footed striker smashed the bottom right corner of the net to leave the red faced Rui Patricio gasping for air.

Thorgan Hazard contribution to the Belgium progression has been massive. He has been involved in six goals in his last seven appearances for Belgium {4 goals, 2 assists}. Today’s striker is the difference between both side as well as the end of Ronaldo’s dream to become the highest goal scorer in men’s football.

Belgium who are currently ranked the best team in the world will now be hoping to win the competition but first will ahve face Roberto Mancini’s Italy.

Italy haven’t lost a game in 31 apperances, can Belguim finally break the deadlock? We wait and see.
