Barcelona have stepped up their effort to sign Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne who is reportedly unhappy with his current contract situation.
The 32-year-old still have a year left on his £4.3m contract with Napoli but, he wants a better deal before he signs a contract extension. Napoli’s inability to offer the wide attacker a better contract has attracted the Bluagrana giants.
Barcelona are reportedly offering him £7.5m-a-year along with add-ons if he agrees to join them this summer.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur are the two clubs interested in signing the player but for now, talks involving transfers negotiations with the player are currently put on hold as Insigne aims to win Italy the European Championship.
Italy are in the semi final of the tournaments and hoping to win their first international trophy since their World Cup triumph in 2006.
