England crashes as Italy win the European Championship

Italy have won the European Championship at Wembley after beating England 3-2 on penalties. The defeat will certainly be hard to swallow on England’s part having been given a huge opportunity by UEFA to win the Euros.

6 of their 7 matches were played at Wembley and yet, England just couldn’t leap above the final hurdle. They crashed hard to Italy who somehow found a way to crawl back from the brink of defeat after Luke Shaw scored a fantastic goal in the second minute of opening half.

Shaw”s well taken strike was a platform to win the match and end England’s 59 years trophy drought. The rendition of football is coming home radiated all around the stadium but sadly, it only lasted for minutes as Leonardo Bonucci found the equalizing goal to peg England back.

The draw after 120 minute of play meant England and Italy were going to go into penalties. England missed three spot kicks {Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Saka} while Italy missed two {Jorginho and Belotti}.

Score line 3-2, Italy wins it for the second time since 1968.
