Everton has confirmed that a member of the first team has suspended amid police investigation. The player’s name will be mentioned due to legal reasons but his actions as well as motive will be explained extensively.
The 31-year-old was arrested last Friday by Greater Manchester police, although he was later released on bail after questions involving child pornography and sexual offences were asked.
For now, the player will not be involved in any sporting activities until every nook and crannies of the case will be carried.
A statement from the police reads: “Officers arrested a man on Friday July 16, 2021, on suspicion of child sex offences,” it started. “He is on police bail pending further enquiries.”
Everton meanwhile released their official statement:
“We can confirm we have suspended a first-team player pending a police investigation,” the club said. “The club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time.”
