Manchester United are closer than ever in signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid. The highly rated defender has already reached personal agreement to join United and now needs his parent club to agree a fee.
Real Madrid do value Varane and want him to pen a new contract with the club. But, after 10 years at the Santiago Bernabue, Varane feels its time to move on and try something new with a different club.
His next club will certainly be Manchester United who have reportedly submitted a £50m bid to sign the French international defender.
That fee though isn’t enough and Real Madrid have made that know. They need an extra £15m to sanction the deal, leaving the negotiation to a compromise which will soon reach a conclusion in the coming days.
Real Madrid must sell Varane in the coming days or risk losing him for free next season, fate Florentino Perez wants to avoid.
