Former Manchester City player Trevor Sinclair has can’t see Liverpool finish in the top 4 after watching teams around them strengthen their respective squad.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all made stellar signings. Leicester City have improved their squad and will certainly be fighting for a top 4 finish.
Liverpool meanwhile has signed just Ibrahima Konate despite struggling through out last season with defensive problems.
Sinclair can’t see Liverpool going far by pegging all hopes on Van Dijk and Joe Gomez knowing those two just returned from serious injuries and could suffer relapse with too much game. Sadly, Liverpool can’t even rely on Joel Matip cause he is an injury ravaged defender.
Added to the list of concerns, Liverpool haven’t replaced Gini Wijnaldum who once offered Jurgen Klopp’s mifield with combativeness, dynamism and energetic pressing.
Apart from Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, no other midfielder can do what Wijnaldum does.
To make things worse, Liverpool will start the season without Andrew Robertson who is currently sidelined with a twisted ankle. That alone is a bad omen.
