Brentford have done it! They’ve beaten Arsenal 2-0 to kick start their Premier League season in fine fashion. The Bees will certainly remember this day for the rest of their lives having made their first ever appearances in the Premier League by beating one of Europe’s fallen giants.
The first goal of the day came courtesy of Sergio Canos in the 22nd minute. HIs low drive flow past Bern Leno and into the far post to give Brentford their first ever Premier League.
A well deserve lead you could hear the commentor say having watched ‘The Bees’ attack the ball with much aggression and purpose while Arsenal laboured in vain. The first half was display of will power from Brentford Vs. sluggishness from Arsenal.
The second half did see more purpose from Arsenal who created multiple goal scoring chances and should have equalized had Pierre Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette played.
Arsenal’s failure to equalizer was their downfall and in the 82nd minute they conceded a rather embarrassing goal by failing to deal with a Sorensen’s long throw-in and the run of Christian Norgaard who powered in a header unmarked.
Questions will certainly be asked about Arsenal’s £50m defender Ben White who was hopelessly moping while the ball was ratcheting the net.
The first game of the season ends 2-0 with Brentford claiming their first win of the Premier league era.. A Big Congratulations to them.
