Liverpool were once a strong contender to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer but some where along the line, the Merseyside against had to step back for Real Madrid to take full control.
Los Blancos are the firm favourites to sign Mbappe once a deal is reached between them and PSG. But no agreement is reached, Mbappe will leave the French champions next season and join Real Madrid as a free agent.
So why is Liveprool not in contention to sign him:
Mbappe commands an astronomical wage– Kylian Mbape will not join Liverpool cause the Reds will pay him what he feels he deserves. PSG and Real Madrid are prepared to pay Mbappe $650,000-a-week and $500,000-a-week respectively.
Such a fee is just to much for Liverpool. They won’t pay it so signing Mbappe is out of the question even if he is free.
Mbappe will demand a better squad to win every trophy- Believe it or not, Liverpool do not have the squad to win a sextuplet, quadruplet, treble or double. They have to limit they’re priority to either one or two trophies a season cause, the squad is not deep enough to win everything.
Take out Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Alisson from Liverpool’s first team and you will be surprised how average the team will look. Without those four players, Liverpool won’t even finish in the top 4 or even the Europa League places.
Mbappe will demand the owners make serious investments in the team if they want him. Sadly, the American owners are greedy and only think about themselves and not the club, fans or players.
Mbappe will be bidding his time to leave if accidently arrives- Mbappe will not commitment his long term future to Liverpool knowing the Reds will not be as dominant as Manchester United used to be under Alex Ferguson.
No disrespect to Jurgen Klopp, he is not in the same caliber as Pep Guardiola, Massimiliano Allegri, Zinedine Zidane or even Antonio Conte who wins everywhere he goes.
Probably the reason he is fine with Liverpool’s squad knowing he can just focus on one trophy not all like Guardiola usually does.
